News from Robert – February 3, 2014

Dear Parents,

As I previewed in last week’s ITK, today is the kick-off of our month-long campaign for Annual Giving & the All-Parent Survey. We have called this year’s campaign “ISP: Totally Loved!” because there is so much love within our community – for teachers, for fellow parents, for colleagues, and for the great experiences that kids have every day. For the month of February we are asking every ISP family to show their love by making a gift to Annual Giving and completing the All-Parent Survey.

One very special gift has already come in to kick off the campaign. Lucia, a student in Masami’s Japanese 2nd grade class, made a generous donation to International School of Portland in honor of “my favorite school – ISP.” She raised the money for her donation by selling “Mother of Millions” plants that she grew at home. She gave half of her proceeds to UNICEF and half to ISP. We are honored to be the recipient of this very heartfelt and generous gift. Thank you, Lucia!

Lucia’s gift reminds me of how powerful every gift and good gesture can be. Each of us can make a difference with our actions. Please take a moment to make your difference:

1) Make a gift to the ISP Annual Giving Campaign at intlschool.org/donatenow. We know that a meaningful gift is different for every family, and we appreciate gifts of any size. Every gift counts and every gift makes a difference. This year there are new opportunities to designate your gift to an area of ISP that you love. See intlschool.org/annual-giving for details.

2) Share your feedback through the All-Parent Survey at intlschool.org/survey. Be honest with those you love! We want to know the things you and your children love about ISP and the areas where we could still stand to grow. Your feedback will help guide future planning for the school.

Your voice and your gift will help strengthen our school for today and for many years to come. 100% of staff and trustees have already pledged their support this year. Please join us in showing your love.

Sincerely,

Robert Woods, Head of School, RobertW@intlschool.org, 503-226-2496 x122
