News from Robert – 7/9

Dear ISP Community Members,

It is with great pleasure that I author my first official communication to you as the Head of School. Having been in the office just five days, this greeting will be very general in nature.

Over the next several weeks, I will be meeting with various staff members to be briefed on finance, facilities, program, development, marketing and other operational aspects of ISP. Additionally, we will be looking at the school year ahead and outlining our work, while planning in more detail for the first weeks. I will also have sessions with members of the Board to review the strategic goals for this coming school year. This time will be a tremendous benefit in helping prepare for the opening of school in September.

For now, everything seems to be running normally. We have begun the second session of Summer Camp to the sound of heavy equipment digging up the street.

On a personal note, my wife, Amelia, and I are settling in to our new home. We are both very excited to be here and are enjoying this period of learning some of the day-to-day aspects of living in Portland and exploring what it has to offer.

It promises to be a very busy and productive school year and I look forward to being a part of it as I begin my tenure at ISP. If you happen to be near school, please stop by and say hello.

Robert
